Finding the words can feel difficult.

Explaining your work can leave you searching for words. You rewrite your bio, second-guess who you should serve, or put off sharing what you offer because your message still feels unclear. You want a way to describe your work that sounds like you and helps people understand how you can help.

On October 11, I’m bringing together a small group of coaches, entrepreneurs, and ministry leaders for Find Your Why, a guided writing workshop to connect your purpose with a clear description of your work.

In this live workshop, you’ll explore your experience and gifts, choose a direction for your work, and draft a Calling Statement you can use in conversations, your bio, and your website. We’ll work through guided creative exploration sessions so you can get unstuck.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Identify the experience and gifts that shape your work.

  • Write a Calling Statement you can use in conversations, your bio, and your website.

  • Choose one specific visibility action to move you forward.

Share your work with purpose

Sharing your work gives people an opportunity to recognize the help you can offer. We’ll reflect on what God has entrusted to you, consider where you can serve responsibly, and practice communicating with honesty and purpose. You’ll choose a step you can take faithfully and trust God with the response.

How This Works

I’ll guide you through a simple 3-part process:

1. Calling: Recognize where you can help

👉 Explore the problems you understand, the people you feel drawn to serve, and the strengths you can offer. You'll also name the beliefs that have held back your visibility and put into words why this work matters to you.

2. Confirmation: Find the evidence in your experience

👉 Trace the help you've already given and the feedback you've received. We'll map the help you’ve already given and the feedback you’ve received.

3. Clarity: Put your direction into words

👉 Choose a primary focus around a person, problem, or process. Then test your direction, draft your Calling Statement, and refine it through feedback. You'll finish by choosing one specific action to take within seven days.

  • Participant worksheet: Prompts and exercises to organize your thinking.

  • Live feedback: An opportunity to hear how your message comes across.

Q: What if I have several interests and can't choose a niche?
A: Bring all your ideas with you. The exercises help you compare your interests with your experience, skills, and evidence of where you can help. You'll work toward a useful first direction that you can test and refine.

Q: Can I attend if I'm just getting started?
A: Yes. You can draw on relevant training, volunteer service, and informal support as you explore your direction. You'll also consider your boundaries and the experience you still need to develop.

Q: What if I'm not a coach or business owner?
A: Yes. This workshop can also help you clarify a ministry, volunteer role, or idea for serving others. The exercises will be most useful if you bring a particular area of work or service you want to explore.

Q: Will this help if I already have a niche?
A: The workshop gives you a way to examine your current direction and sharpen how you describe it. Bring any existing work or any feedback you've received from the people you hope to serve.

Q: What if I can't attend both sessions live?
A: 30-day replay access is available for purchase. Attending live gives you the opportunity to participate in the reflection and live feedback portions.

Q: What will I leave with?
You’ll work toward a clearer direction, a draft Calling Statement, and one practical step to share your message. You can continue refining your statement as you use it in real conversations.
